Recognizing Dialects: Arabic (AVI) is a rich multimedia resource designed to help foreign language professionals and students who have attained a minimum of ILR level 2 proficiency in Modern Standard Arabic build their awareness of similarities and differences in Arabic dialects, an important step in learning to recognize them in everyday use. It is also intended to help cultivate an appreciation of the richness of Arabic language and culture. After a brief introductory module, the product provides an overview “tour” of nine regional Arabic dialects spoken throughout the Arab world.

لا تحزن علي عام مضي وحاول ان تحلم مع عام جديد‏..‏لا تنظر للأوراق الصفراء التي تساقطت من شجرة العمر والخريف يحاصرك وانظر إلي أوراق صغيرة تنبت وتضئ وغدا تملأ الكون بألوانها الزاهية وثمارها الناضجة‏..
لا تنظر للوراء حتي لا تسقط في حفرة تركها لك حاقد أو مخبول..لا تترك خيالك ولا تضيع وقتك مع من خدع أو خان أو تآمر وانظر حولك ستجد أناسا كثيرون أحبوك..وحين تراجع دفاتر العمر سوف تجد رصيدا كبيرا من المحبة وطابورا طويلا من الأحباب..في حديقة أيامك لا يؤلمك كثيرا ان تجد بعض الحشائش الضارة التي أدمت قدميك وانظر إلي السماء ستجد أشجارا عالية تظلل مسيرتك وشمسا مشرقة تضئ أيامك ووجوها تستحق ان تراها وتسعد معها..
وانت تودع عاما رحل أغلق الباب علي أشياء لم تسعدك وابحث عن تلك الأشياء التي منحتك السعادة والبهجة..حاول ان تنسي تلك الوجوه العابثة التي لم تزرها في يوم من الأيام إبتسامة الرضا أو نسمات الرحمة.. لا تندم علي إحساس جميل أو لحظة سعادة اسعدت بها حبيبا أو صديقا أو رفيق عمر فسوف يذكرك كلما زارته أشباح الحزن وايام الوحشة يكفي ان يبقي في أجندة عام رحل أياما قليلة عشتها مع نفسك..ان السعادة الحقيقية تنبت داخلنا وتشع حولنا ونراها في عيون الآخرين..لا تطلب الحب من صحاري القلوب الخاوية لأن الصحراء لا يمكن ان تكون مزارا للعصافير..والقلوب التي لم تعرف الحب لا تعرف طريقا للعطاء..لا تنتظر الرحمة من إنسان لم يعرف الحب لأن الحب أول طريق للرحمة إذا كان العمر قد خدعك في حلم أو حبيب أو بشر لا تيأس وانتظر عاما جديدا وحلما جديدا وحبيبا تلقي لديه متاعب رحلتك وانت مطمئن علي قلبك المتعب وجسدك الهزيل..لا تعاتب أحدا خانك أو صديقا باعك أو شخصا إستخدم قوته في إيذاء الآخرين ان وجوها كثيرة حولك مازالت قادرة علي العطاء والحب والرحمة وفي عام جديد ينتظرك مازالت أمامك شمس تشرق ونهار يجئ وسماء جميلة صافية..مع عام جديد ارجوك ان تبتسم فلا شيء في الدنيا جدير ان تحزن عليه. كل عام وانت قادر ان تحب
